Itâs been one year since we launched Meals on Wheels UK, and weâre delighted to share the impact the resource has achieved so far.
Over the past 12 months:
đ 31,000 unique visitors from 112 countries have explored the website
đ More than 220 service providersâ websites have been accessed through the resource
đïž Over 50 community organisations, local authorities, and general practices have signposted to Meals on Wheels UK
đ„ More than 10,000 unique visitors have clicked through to provider websites directly from Meals on Wheels UK – a strong indicator of real-world service discovery and referrals
đ Website analytics show consistent growth and broad usage, demonstrating clear need, visibility, and value for the Meals on Wheels sector
This milestone reflects the collective efforts of Meals on Wheels providers, community partners, practitioners, and everyone who has shared and supported the Meals on Wheels UK resource.
Thank you for helping strengthen access to nutritious meals and wellbeing support for adults with care needs across the four UK nations.

Bristol academic who has championed Meals on Wheels services invited to meet Her Majesty the Queen

Yesterday, her Majesty The Queen welcomed members of the National Association Of Care Catering (NACC) to Clarence House, as we celebrate Meals on Wheels Week (3rd to 7th November).
Angeliki Papadaki, Founder of Meals on Wheels UK, said: ‘I was honoured to attend this reception, alongside an amazing group of Meals on Wheels service providers, who are doing a fantastic job keeping adults with care and support needs living independently in their homes for longer. Their stories, and those of the people who benefit from this essential service, havenât stopped inspiring me. Thatâs why weâre working hard at the University of Bristol to shine a light on the value of Meals on Wheels, and to produce robust evidence that can shape its future.’

Meals on Wheels Week 2025: 3â7 November â Get Involved!

Building on the momentum of last yearâs website launch during Meals on Wheels Week 2024, weâre delighted to announce that the annual celebration will return from Monday 3 to Friday 7 November 2025.
Across the week, community meals providers, volunteers, local authorities and care caterers will showcase the life-changing impact a hot meal and friendly chat can have on adults with care needs living at home. Expect themed days, inspiring stories and plenty of opportunities to shout about the service that keeps thousands nourished and connected.

Meals on Wheels UK at the APSE Facilities Management Seminar 2025

On 30th January 2025, we gave an overview of the Meals on Wheels UK map at the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Facilities, Catering and Cleaning Management Seminar 2025, in Leeds.
The theme of the seminar was âFuture proofing local authority facilities management’. It was great to discuss the map and how it can help local authorities across the UK support their residents, and amazing to see such a positive reception by Service Managers and Cabinet Members.

New resource added

Many of you asked us to develop a graphic poster that will signpost to the Meals on Wheels UK website using a QR code. We listened to your feedback and you can now find this poster (and instructions on how to download it) in the Resources section of the website.

Meals on Wheels UK at the NACC South West Region winter seminar

On 22nd November 2024, the Meals on Wheels UK map will be showcased at the National Association for Care Catering’s (NACC) South West Region Winter Seminar in Bristol.
The theme of the seminar is ‘The Value of Research to Inform Care Catering’ and Angeliki Papadaki, Lead of Meals on Wheels UK, will give attendees an overview of the Meals on Wheels UK map, highlighting how it addresses accessibility challenges and fosters collaboration among Meals on Wheels providers. Weâre thrilled to share this resource with sector professionals in the South-West. Thank you to NACC South West Region for hosting this seminar!

Meals on Wheels UK launched on November 7th, 2024

Weâre thrilled that we launched our new Meals on Wheels UK website during Meals on Wheels Week 2024, organised by the National Association of Care Catering (NACC)! This innovative platform addresses the challenge of finding Meals on Wheels providers across the UK by offering an easy-to-use map that helps users locate services delivering in their area. So what better day to launch Meals on Wheels UK, than Connect Thursday!
During the launch webinar, we demonstrated the websiteâs features, highlighted its community-wide benefits and future development plans, and explored opportunities for partnerships to ensure long-term sustainability. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this exciting milestone in supporting UK communities, and to NACC for hosting the webinar.

Meals on Wheels UK travels to Scotland

Angeliki Papadaki was invited to present at the National Association for Care Cateringâs (NACC) Scottish Region Winter Seminar 2024 on November 4th, 2024. Her presentation, titled âConnecting voices through research: Raising awareness of Meals on Wheelsâ, explored how working with individuals who have lived experience of Meals on Wheels can drive the development of resources to boost awareness of this vital service.
Hosted by the NACCâs Scottish Region and held in the beautiful Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline, the seminar brought together care catering professionals, including Meals on Wheels providers, from across Scotland. A big thank you to the NACC Scottish Region and Fife Council for hosting us!
